With no information about the creator or intended audience, I began this project by imagining the circumstances from which this organ came. As a child, I always regarded organs like these as somewhat creepy, neglected instruments that you might find in a basement, or gathering dust in someone’s living room. I decided that any potential buyers for this item would be collectors: people actively interested in creepy connotations and the idea that they may have discovered something cool. I spoke to this audience through the use of wavering expressive typography which refers to the organ’s character as much as does its sound.
